Shortlist

Terms of Service

Effective date: May 5, 2026

These terms cover Shortlist-specific subscription behavior, analytical limitations, and responsible use.

Relationship to Apple Standard EULA

Shortlist uses Apple's standard End User License Agreement for App Store distribution unless App Store Connect later states otherwise. These Shortlist terms supplement the Atlas Peak Media Terms of Service for product-specific subscriptions, data, and disclaimers.

Subscriptions and Trials

Shortlist offers paid Pro and Family auto-renewable subscriptions through Apple's App Store. Paid subscriptions are planned with a 7-day free trial for eligible users.

After the trial, subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions through Settings, Apple ID, then Subscriptions.

Purchases, refunds, billing questions, cancellation, and restore-purchase flows are handled by Apple. Atlas Peak Media does not receive your payment card information.

Admissions Disclaimer

Shortlist is informational software. It does not provide admissions advice, college counseling, financial-aid advice, legal advice, or fiduciary advice.

Shortlist does not guarantee admission, scholarship, financial-aid, or enrollment outcomes. Outputs depend on user-entered inputs, public federal data availability, and model assumptions. Verify all information against school websites, official offers, and qualified counselors before making enrollment decisions.

Rankings, Methodology, and Data Limitations

Shortlist's 24-dimension rankings draw on public federal datasets including College Scorecard, IPEDS, BLS Occupational Employment & Wage Statistics, BLS Employment Projections, BLS Occupational Outlook Handbook, O*NET, ACS PUMS, NCES CIP, MAP State Equality Index, USDA Food Access Research Atlas, Clery Act, OCR Title IX, IRS 990, EADA, HUD FMR, NY Fed Underemployment, and Hamilton Project Mobility (deferred — licensing).

Public data may be delayed, incomplete, suppressed for privacy thresholds, top- or bottom-coded, or revised by the source agency. Shortlist labels each dimension with a vintage and pipeline-row count and discloses suppression and peer-grouping rules in the Methodology section.

User-weighted and persona-weighted rankings are decision aids. They do not represent official rankings, accreditation, or institutional quality assessments. Shortlist does not accept payment for ranking placement.

Financial-Aid Tools

The award-comparison, true-net-cost, expected-family-contribution, and aid-appeal-packet tools are estimators based on user inputs and public datasets such as HUD Fair Market Rents.

Estimators are not official aid offers, are not guaranteed by any school, and do not constitute financial-aid advice. Always rely on the school's official award letter, your FAFSA Submission Summary, and the school's financial-aid office before making enrollment or borrowing decisions.

Acceptable Use

Do not use Shortlist to misrepresent admissions data, ranking outputs, or financial-aid estimates as official institutional rankings, certified counseling, or guarantees of outcomes.

Do not attempt to bypass StoreKit subscriptions, scrape backend services, reverse engineer provider access, or use Shortlist in a way that violates applicable law or third-party data terms.
